Among GMSA's nine core values is a passion for building an international team. During our nearly ninety-year history, Canadians, Germans, British and Americans have labored side by side in the southern cone planting churches, training leaders and doing camp ministry. Our sending countries, the USA, Canada and Great Britain are actively seeking one hundred new career missionaries and six hundred senders to partner with us in reaching nearly 60 million souls for Christ in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. As the Lord directs, we hope to expand into neighboring Latin American countries.
Immediate ministry focuses:
Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay
Church Planting
Come be a part of a growing team of servants committed to seeing Christ build His Church! Over forty cities throughout the Southern Cone are targeted where opportunity abounds to preach Christ and see churches born, mature and reproduce themselves.
Bible Training Centers
A fundamental facet of church planting is the training of faithful men who will love, serve and shepherd the flock of God. We are asking God for 20 servant/mentors skilled in coming along side of students in classroom and real life settings to model Christ-likeness and train them for the rigors of ministry. With five established training centers and a sixth international training center in the development stages, the potential for preparing future shepherds, church planters and missionaries is exciting.
Christian Camping
Christian camping continues to be a great evangelistic tool, but also countless youth look back to a camp experience to when they consecrated their life to Christ or surrendered themselves to God for full time Christian service. The development and operation of five camps in South America has created the need for 16 camp workers who will provide quality leadership in all aspects of effective camp ministry, as well as a commitment to training national brothers in Christ in Christian camping.
Cross-Cultural Office Ministry
People often underestimate the importance of serving in an office setting. If you have administrative, financial, computer, and people skills, and would be passionate about using your abilities to provide quality ministry support for the GMSA team you could have a vital role in the objective of church planting.
Fort Lauderdale, FL GMSA International Headquarters
Individuals with administrative, financial, computer, and people skills are needed to provide quality ministry support for the entire GMSA team at home and in South America. One of the blessings of joining the US HQ team is the opportunity to rub shoulders with missionaries, missionary candidates, board members and other guests through providing hospitality. Ministering at our US HQ does not exclude a variety of opportunities to travel to South America to help in GMSA ministries.
As you seek God's direction in your life, let us hear from you. Visit our Fort Lauderdale office and ministries in South America. We would love to host you in our homes and our other places of ministry. For more information contact Terry Thompson (954) 587-2975.
How to Pursue a Career in Missions with Gospel Mission of South America
Candidates are channeled through the Home Council to which they apply. The respective Council will substantiate their soundness in the faith on all the fundamental truths as stated in the GMSA Doctrinal Statement. Should their views on any doctrine or procedure differ or subsequently change, they are expected to inform the Mission. Mission leaders will arrange dates for an orientation program. Final acceptance is by the respective Home Council.
Candidates should "count the cost" before applying, and be prepared to fully trust the Lord through the process of orientation, deputation, language training, and ultimately field work. Any sacrifice made for Christ here will be far outweighed by the exceeding and eternal weight of glory that awaits His faithful servants (2 Cor 4:17).
