After serving two years in the Temuco, Chile area, the Flinck family arrived in the city of Antofagasta in May 2011 with the goal to start a reproducing New Testament local church. The city is growing rapidly due to the copper mining industry and there is a tremendous spiritual need in this “modern Corinth”. In June 2012, the Lord provided the funds for GMSA to purchase a mission house in Antofagasta to house the Flincks and to be used for a meeting place for the growing church plant. Currently, a core group of believers is meetings, and leaders are being trained with the goal of constituting the church in the near future.
The Flincks asked us to pray for for another GMSA church planting missionary couple or individual to join them in Antofagasta. God has answered that prayer with the early 2018 arrival of Mark and Bekah Perry, as well as with last year’s arrival of Andres and Cecilia Maluenda, a Chilean couple who are presently assisting in the ministry.
