After joining the mission in 2004, arriving in Chile in 2009, and serving two years in the Temuco, area, we arrived in the city of Antofagasta in May 2011 with the goal of starting a reproducing New Testament local church. The city is growing rapidly due to the copper mining industry and there is a tremendous spiritual need in this “modern Corinth”. The Antofagasta church plant established with church membership in August of 2019, and the believers purchased a new building in March, 2020. Additional leaders are being trained with the goal of having all national leadership in the near future.
We are working in a church planting team that includes GMSA co-workers, Mark and Bekah Perry, as well as a young Chilean couple, Andres and Cecilia Maluenda. Our goal is to see future local churches planted in northern Chile.
