Tom and Debbie arrived in Argentina with their two children, Kati (2) and Andy (4 mos.) and spent their first eight and a half years in Temperley, a suburb of Buenos Aires. Kristi and Danny were born in 1993 and 1995 respectively. While in Temperley the Gibbons were tasked with re-establishing the Pasco Bible Center. In 1999 an interim National pastor accepted the call to lead the church and has been there since. On December 3, 1999, with their four kids in tow (ages 4 to 10), they followed the Lord’s leading to Chivilcoy, 100 miles southwest of Buenos Aires. They formed a church planting team with Lois Kenney and Lois Mc Allister (both veteran GMSA missionaries from Chile) and worked together for 18 1/2 years to establish the Chivilcoy Bible Center which called its first National pastor in March of 2018. Both Tom and Debbie taught in the Bible Institute in Buenos Aires throughout their years in Argentina contributing to the mentorship and training of leaders. In 1996 Tom was asked to serve as Field Director in Argentina, and in 2000 as Associate General Director of the Mission. In 2001 he was asked by the Mission and the National Fellowship to oversee the purchase of a property near Chivilcoy and the development of a Christian camping facility. Missionaries James and Donelle Morrell joined the camp team in October of 2014. The camp was inaugurated in May of 2017 under James’ leadership. On January 2, 2018, Tom was elected to serve as General Director of the Mission. The Gibbons now reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at GMSA International Headquarters.
