Missionaries Dave and Patti West write in their October update:
Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,
It is harvest time here in Iowa. The farmer trusts that what he planted in the Spring will bring great delight and plenty during the harvest. It is always a big investment. Soil, weather, and pests all contribute to make the farmer’s work one of faith. Scripture captures this same principal in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not grow weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.” Serving the Lord is not unlike farming in this respect. The servant of the Lord plants the seed of the Word in his ministry, and trusts in God’s timing and in God’s way, for a return on that investment.
The Lord has allowed us to invest a great deal in the past few weeks. We had the privilege to visit several churches either for a visit, a presentation, or an update. These visits are investments from which we trust the Lord will produce much fruit.
It is always our prayer that the Lord will impact the lives of believers as we challenge them in the area of ministry and missions. Maybe the Lord will encourage someone else to put their hand to the plow and serve Him. We anticipate prayer partners and perhaps some financial partners who will help us get to the field in Argentina. Perhaps the Lord will use us to bring the gospel to a lost soul that they might put their trust in Jesus for salvation. We never know how the Lord will use us. We just plant the seeds and trust that “in due season” we will see the harvest. At times we get weary, but we are constantly encouraged by the words, “if you faint not.” With the Lord’s strength we journey on. What a blessing to serve the Lord in faith. May He, through your continued prayers, bring in a bountiful Harvest.
Paz y Bendiciones,
