Tornado in Chivilcoy

Monday night there was a tornado in the city of Chivilcoy where GMSA missionaries Tom & Debbie Gibbons, Lois Kenney, Lois McAllister serve.

They are OK, but electricity in the city is out as a result and communication is very limited.

Please pray for gospel opportunities in the midst of this weather disaster. Pray for those injured. Pray for electrical service for the water pumps in the city, and for the necessary repairs to the old roof over the church, the game gallery.

Uruguay Bible College Update

Back in July, we mentioned a team of men endeavoring to establish a new fundamental Bible college in Uruguay. There is a recent update on this project, from missionary Sergio Duarte, who writes:

“We thank the Lord and praise Him for the doors of opportunity He is opening to develop this college. You may recall that we prayed and talked about this possibility for some time. Now, it is becoming a reality like a good dream come true. We know that is only by God’s Grace and His perfect timing that this is being put together. In mid-November, we had a special meeting in one of the churches in Montevideo to promote it among young people and pastors from fundamental works. The response in attendance and in interest was great. There were close to 120 people.”

Please continue to pray for God to provide for this training ground for future gospel workers in Uruguay.

Thanks for Another Donation

A generous donor gifted a Ford Escort LX to the mission. It will get a little maintenance and soon be on the road serving our missionaries. Thanks to our God for His generous provision.

New Canadian Representatives

Dan and Margaret Burkholder have accepted a new ministry as full-time Canadian Representatives for GMSA. Our hope and prayer is that the Lord will use the Burkholders to contact new missionaries to serve with us in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. If you would like to contact the Burkholders, please click through to their GMSA home page and click the “Contact Us” link on the right hand side of the page.

To Argentina: West Family Update

Why does a missionary drive thousands of miles, speak in dozens of churches, endure months away from “home,” take on several travel over-nighters, etc., etc?

The reason for the missionary is typically a tremendous passion to share with local churches the work that the Lord has opened the door to do. This passion is so intense that the missionary is willing to take risks and endure challenges in order to get to the “other side.” For us specifically, the work of training nationals for ministry is one that, in our minds, is exciting and critical for the future of the local churches in Argentina. We are terribly eager to get to the field.

Lican Ray Camp Update

Check out the following photos of a work team building the first brick duplex cabin with full bathrooms in Lican Ray. Lord willing, the roof will be added in December making it ready for use in January.

2013 Tri-Country Pastor’s Conference

The Lord sent us good speakers for the Tri-Country Pastors’ Conference in Chile. This year’s topic was Biblical counseling. The pastors are grateful for the study book that was provided to each participant. Remember them as they preach and teach God’s Word in their respective churches across the Southern Cone.
