Proto’s Prayer Update

1 Chronicles 16:1 “Seek The Lord and His strength, seek His face continually.”

Baptism

We are so thankful for the baptism of a husband and wife on September 18th. They started coming to our church in January of this year. They have grown in the Lord and have been so excited about getting baptized. The problem was that it was the winter here June-August. We don’t have a baptismal in our church and it was too cold to baptize them outside. So the plan was as soon as warmer weather came, they wanted to follow the Lord in baptism. Well, according to the calendar it should have been warmer weather! We praise the Lord for a sunny, but chilly, Sunday morning where they were able to be baptized in a pool outside the church building. Grateful, for many of their unsaved family members coming to be with them on the day of their baptism.

Visitors

We are so grateful to the Lord for many first time visitors who have attended the church over these past few months. A few of them have continued coming out faithfully to all of the services and have invited and brought their family members to church as well. Please pray specifically for the salvation of three men who have been attending.

Co-Laboring

We are so happy to see all the church folks give a hand in helping to make the church building and property look more orderly. They gave money for the front of the church building to be painted. They spent a full day one Saturday painting, weeding, moving, and dumping things, so that there could be a nice park area behind the church to sit and fellowship. The next week it took a few days and lots of manpower to move many large piles of sand and small rocks up to the second floor of the building, so that in the following days the men could pour cement for the parsonage floor.

We are so thankful that the church has a mind to work. It has been a joy to work together through the construction process of the church property. Thank you Lord!

Bible Studies

It has been wonderful to see some of the various groups of Bible Studies going on throughout the church. We, as a couple, have been able to meet weekly with another couple in the church and teach them various lessons on training the youth of the church. It has been great to see them working with the teens and putting into practice the things they have been learning.

There is a group of younger men who get together every Tuesday to read the scriptures with a young man who has just begun coming to our church. Every Thursday, there is a group of older men who get together to read the Bible.

Monica (one of our co-workers) is leading a group of ladies and studying the book of James.

There are also many individual (one on one) Bible studies going on throughout the week. What a blessing it is to see people hungry and thirsty for the Word of God!!
