Missionaries Dan and Liz Thompson report: “We give God the glory for a wonderful September retreat. There are times when there is no question in our finite minds that God is at work and that He will make His purposes known to us. We started the retreat this year with our camp team coming a day early to prepare the camp for campers. Our main speaker arrived from Argentina after a day’s drive and found out that his mother-in-law had been killed after a breaking and entering at her home. He left the next morning to be with his wife and family. It was a huge shock to us, but the Lord was in control! Our other speaker called and said that his aunt had passed away, but upon hearing what happened in our main speaker’s life, he had decided to come anyway instead of staying with his family. Danny started studying to make up the speaking times that were missing and the team got into gear. The Lord was in control and He gave the strength and wisdom to keep going.”
“We are praying for 4 young men who would raise prayer and financial support to serve full time this summer at camp. Danny will be working one on one with each one, mentoring them spiritually and through physical work on camp. Our goal is to see young people take concrete steps towards serving the Lord full-time and using their summer vacation as an opportunity to serve others and grow spiritually.”
