Pirque Picnic Chile Independence Day

Pirque Picnic Chile Independence Day

Independence Day

Chile’s Independence Day is September 18th, but Chileans celebrate the entire month.    After some dreary, cold, rainy months things begin to perk up. Winter is coming to an end. The end of the school year is just that much closer.  More people are outside with their families enjoying the warmer weather.  September truly is the most wonderful month of the year.

After 2 years, Chile’s Independence Day was able to be celebrated at camp.  It was the first time the fellowship of churches has been together since the pandemic hit.  Over 200 people from several different churches came together for a time of singing, teaching, fellowship and of course tons of food and soccer.

Tri-Country Conference

Pirque Bible Camp will host a tri-country Pastor’s/Missionary conference November 7-10th.  This time is set aside for pastors and missionaries to be challenged by God’s Word, receive good instruction, fellowship and pray for one another.  To say there is a lot of work to be done in preparation would be an understatement.  We’ve had several setbacks with skilled workers being unable to come.  Divisions, electric, flooring, ceiling, windows, doors, etc. need to be installed in the now two-story dorm.  We are thankful for those who come out to help on the workdays.  We need all the help we can get.

Summer Activities

We are looking forward to summer (December-February) and all the activities.  Please pray even now that God would be preparing the hearts of speakers, counselors and operational staff as well as the campers.  After almost 3 years with the camp not being able to properly function due to Covid, we can lose the “habit” of camp.  Other activities can replace camp we lose sight of the valuable resource camp can be to the local church.

Becca’s Surgery

On October 12th Becca is scheduled to have out-patient surgery on her knee to remove a growth from behind the knee cap.  This, along with scrubbing floors, appears to be what caused such inflammation and pain.  Please pray for smooth recovery and for good results from the biopsy.

Thank you once again for your faithful prayers for us, our family & ministry.  We are thankful to be back in Chile.
